Hi All,

This forum is very good, I could get valuable details here, Thanks all of you for sharing the details.

I have one question,

I understand that in Slough, age factor is taken in to account while calculating marks,

I understand that maximum marks that a student can get is 141,

Is it true that a student can get 141 marks only if he/she is born in the month of August

My son is born in December, what could be the maximum marks that he could aim at.

Thanks for sharing the information

Regards
Rad

Hi Rad,

It would be true if the maximum raw score was 100% and achieved by a child born in august. Then a child born in december could not obtain the maximum standardised score of 141, even with also a raw score of 100%.

In practice, the maximum raw score is generally not 100%. So an august child may be awarded 141 with a raw score of 90%, whilst a december child will need 97% (I am making up numbers).

Here's further explanations about standardised scores from this site:

Hope this helps
