standardisation

Post by FLG »

Ok so this is another thing I was wondering about. My son is the youngest in his year. That means extra points to my knowledge? Not sure how that works, but then you have to wonder does it apply to all tests in the future too? SATs, gcses...will it mean he struggles more. I know it's a very individual thing...guess I'm just freaking out. We had the confirmation time and candidate number through for the Berks 11+ today

standardisation doesn't usually mean any marks added. It usually means that your child will be compared against other children of the same birth month in order to reach a standardised score. In practice this usually means requiring a couple of marks less to reach the same standardised mark as a child born earlier in the academic year.
