Hi...My ds has passed 11+ exam scoring 111 standardised score. what are his chances of getting into Herschel Grammer !!!! : (

Hi curious mum,

Congratulations to your ds for passing the 11+

With Herschel it all depends on where you live.... according to their admission policy the first 70 places are allocated top down on score achieved, the other 50 are allocated on distance (as long as you have acheived the pass score of 111.

We live in hayes...chances look slim. Should we appeal..or wait until March!

I have been trying to ask around and see whether you could appeal now, knowing that due to the distance criteria in the admmissions policy they are unlikely to allocate down to 111.......or whether you would need to wait until March and have confirmation of the position. No one seems to have a definitive answer.
Any appeal that is upheld is said to also be an allocation of a place at the grammar.
I would suggest phoning the school and asking the question......
