Only heard something of the sort mentioned by Stevew61, on an earlier thread. Not elsewhere. Would make sense, If they were preparing to follow the new admissions code.

Only way to find out for sure, is to contact the school directly, I presume.

I've actually thought of contacting Reading, to ask if they would be going with the new code, after reading the Admins code threads on here. It's just plucking up enough courage

I think it would be a good thing if they were to bring it forward, so as to give results before we had to submit our CAF forms. But, also a pain as this would mean less time to prepare our kids for the actual tests.

One thought that had occurred, is that more children would presumably be entered for tests now, as they have stopped the 'first preference first' stipulation, which held for a couple of Reading and Bracknel secondarys, and I know put people off, from trying as they would lose a place at their local good school.

Such a shame!

Would really, really, really have liked to know results before March 2008!

Reading Borough Council now have several documents for 2007/08 so looks like no change to September exams yet !

Timetable
The admissions process for routine admission into Year 7 of a secondary school in 2008/09, the routine admission round, begins in July 2007 and ends on 31 August 2008.
Applications must be made to Reading School in addition to the LA. Reading School application forms will be available from July 2007, and parents should expect to receive an acknowledgement of their application. The tests will take place at Reading School on Friday 16 November 2007. The LA will offer places on behalf of Reading School on 1 March 2008.
Deadline of receipt of applications
The deadline for receipt of applications to Reading School is Wednesday 24 October 200

Sorry, didn't make myself clear.

I meant for the consultations on the Reading Borough Council web.
Re: 2008/2009 admissions. http://www.reading.gov.uk/educationandl ... 2-A78224F8
It says
Consultation ends on the 1 March 2007 for all schools. Final arrangements will be determined by the 19 April 2007 and published in the Autumn of 2007.'
Just thought I might be able to remind them of point re:grammars from new admissions code.
