Jorney from Reading to Slough schools
Has any of the parents experienced regular school journey from Reading to any of Slough grammar schools? Anybody aware of any dedicated coach service, or train is the best option? Is the hourney at all feasible, specially in the winter ? Please advice.........
Travel from Reading
I believe Herschel did (or still do) run a mini bus service from Slough Station, as they have pupils from Uxbridge and possibly Reading.
Slough Grammar is approx half a mile walk from train station, with a couple of busy roads to cross so possibly not suitable for a Y7 (you would have to do a recce). Slough train station is right next to bus station, though, so could possible switch to a bus for the last stretch, which is straight down the A4 and would have a regular service - this would also bring St Bernards and Langley into the frame, though rather complicated.
If I were you, I'd sound out Herschel on the mini bus situation.
