Re: Kendrick & Reading 2012 Results
No ranks on the letters but I wish they had given ranks as well as the standardised scores, it would have made this easier. Could someone with a bigger brain than me tell me what 114 equates to please?

still a bit in the unknown but with some hope I would say

I think I would prefer to go back to the old system, at least you knew on the day. Don't envy anyone in twilight zone having to wait until March 1st, seems very unfair.

Re: Kendrick & Reading 2012 Results
If I use the normal distribution formular in EXCEL with a average score of 100 with a standard deviation of 15 which all schools usually use, I am getting a rank of 138 for a score of 112 when 651 children taken the exam.
Formula = (1-NORMDIST(112,100,15,1))*n.
Am I wrong?

Hi Bailey Lane
Definitely no bigger brain here but having a look at the Nfer standardised chart which converts to percentile rankings - 114 equates to top 18% which means that approximately 116 people are above your DD. As we don't know how many people are tied, it is impossible to know her rank but it would not be below 117/8 if we are right that it is calculated in this way.

Pleasure - just hope it's right!
Re: Kendrick & Reading 2012 Results
Maybe I am being naive but surely without knowing the date of birth, any standardised ranking calculation is very dangerous....

Hi Cocoa
The date of birth has already been taken into account in order to arrive at the standardised score so it is no longer relevant.

At the risk of being wrong with my first post, I would like to suggest the following:
SS
116 - 99% sure
115 - very likely
114 - very likely
113 - possible
112 - possible
111 - unlikely
110 - unlikely
109 - unlikely
108 and below - no
Anybody care to support or contradict this?
P.S. Still waiting for the postman
