Slough & Bucks 11 plus ranking

Post by Nishi »

My son got *** above 121 (edited by moderator) *** in BUCKS and 110 in SLOUGH consortium. If I want to send my son to St Bernard's and insert that as the 1st choice (although he hasn't scored 111) and then Burnham Grammer (BGS) as 2nd choice. Am I doing the right ranking? Or should I insert BGS as 1st choice as my son has passed BUCKS. I live in West Drayton and many kids go to BGS from here. Please advice. I might have to appeal for Bernads.

Please note that my son also a Buddhist not Catholic or Christine

Also, would i get an offer from both school in second round? is that possible.

Nishi - which school is your first choice? Put that school first and go from there.

You will not get two offers if you apply via the CAF.

If you don't get BGS then your second choice becomes your first!

Have you looked at the distances offered from BGS in recent years?

thanks. that helps.

- Yes BGS has gone up to 8.5 miles last year where as i live 8.1 miles away.

Another question : Assume that I have to appeal to either of school at the end, if that happens with which school should that I have a higher chance of succeeding? ( appeal will be based on academic performance).

An appeal for BGS would be on over subscription, not non qualification. The appeal for St Bernard's would be on non qualification.

Ok ...understand. thanks ever so !!!
I also need help to understand , when they say 1st round allocation, 2nd round allocation, 3rd round allocation etc, would 2nd round on wards happen after 1st March when we hear our first allocated school. Is that right? could you explain that a little bit.

I think (others will confirm) that the second round of allocations is mid April & then monthly thereafter. If you go on a waiting list they will let you know where you are on the list. You can also appeal at the same time.

that helps...thanks so much Forum!!!
I am really hoping my son get a place at BGS. I will put that as the first choice and go from there. I am planning to appeal if I dont get BGS in the first allocation.
