Kendrick - morning or afternoon?

Post by aliportico »

Yes, I'm at the blathering away about minutiae stage.

Wondered if there was any correlation between when you sent in your form, and which slot you were allocated? I.e. do they fill up the morning first and then the afternoon, or alternate to ensure even numbers, lol? And what time are the tests anyway?

I only gave in the form on Friday. And I have a Kendrick y12 who needs to sign up for two hours of helping out on test day. And we were wondering whether the three of us would be able to coordinate going out for lunch

Last year it did seem that those who applied early got morning slots. DDs friends all applied later than us, we were in the morning, the rest in the afternoon.
I guess some really late ones could have also end up in the morning, so they balance out the numbers.
I think I was very quick off the mark applying, (because I'm efficient/sad ) and DD was number 17.

Oh and the morning session was arrive at 8:30 for a 9:00 start. Finish around 11:30.
I think the afternoon session was either 12:00 for a 12:30 start or 12:30 for a 13:00 start. I know it wasn't long after the morning set finished.

Yeah, I had 1 o'clock in my head, but that was from many years ago! Will probably have to be brunch rather than lunch then ;-)

Very late application made by us day before deadline resulting in a morning slot! Not a morning person my DD!

Also, very scary candidate number over 760!! I'm sure that each year the number of applicants is higher than the number of actual sitters. Here's hoping!

Its a very clever system at Kendrick where both am and pm sessions overlap, one lot are being discharged whilst the next lot are being checked in :) They are very organised so your dd will be at ease.

Also heard of high 600 number being allocated therefore predicting similar candidate numbers to last year

am or pm, no. of candidates, it does not matter.....go in and do your best and everything will work out for the best.

Good luck to everyone sitting Kendrick and Reading exams next week :)

CN, didn't know you were doing it again!

Yep, letter today - morning. Examination number 663.

DD1 has the 2-4pm helper slot, so it will be lunch at Cosmo on the dot of 12 I think!

That's what it said on the results later last year.

Seems like it's even higher this year

Good luck to all those DDs taking it this year.
