Perhaps starting with the age appropriate English Bond series book, and then working your way through the rest.
Followed by, working through the 'First Aid in English' book and of course reading in his spare time. Lots and lots of reading!

I am on the same boat. My concern with Reading Boys is the transport. Does anyone know if there's a bus?

They do run Horseman coaches to Wokingham and Bracknell and other areas.
Contact the school, they can give you the Coach contact details for detailed information.
