I think it's fair to assume that there will be very little or no movement in the waiting list from now on. I'm sure you have a plan B which you are happy with so my best advice would be to tell your ds that he's going to the plan B school and for you all to assume that's the case.

Seriously though your comments have been troubling me - if something's not good for your son and family then obviously you shouldn't do it . Go with your plan B and embrace the opportunities it offers you
