Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools

Admissions – September 2015 Entry

The revised Admissions Code became law on 1st February 2012. Schools now have a duty to inform parents of the outcome of admissions tests before the deadline for submission of the Common Application Form.

The Common Application Form must be submitted by 31st October in any given year. All 11+ testing, marking and standardisation must therefore be completed in order for results to be notified to parents before 31st October.

The schedule for the Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools 11+ testing process for entry to Year 7 in September 2015 is therefore as shown below.

Registration Forms available from any of the Consortium grammar schools’ websites. Thursday 1st May 2014

Closing date for submission of Registration Forms to the Consortium Friday 20th June 2014 – By 3.30pm.

11+ information evenings

For parents only to explain the 11+ testing process in detail. These events are not open evenings; there will be no tours of the schools or school specific details, They are purely to provide you with information necessary for you to understand the changes to the testing and application process and will last for a maximum of one hour. These information evenings will be presented in the same way in all four schools.

Wednesday 23rd April 2014 – 6pm
Langley Grammar and Upton Court Grammar School

Thursday 24th April 2014 – 6pm
Herschel Grammar and St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School

Slough Borough Council secondary school applications open online Monday 1st September 2014

11+ Test Date
All children, irrespective of where they attend primary school, will sit the 11+ test at one of the four grammar schools.
Saturday 13th September 2014

Open Evenings/ Open mornings
Herschel Grammar School
Langley Grammar School
St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School
Upton Court Grammar School

Various dates for each school –information will be published on school websites in June/July


Results notified to parents Mid-October 2014
Common Application Form closing date Friday 31st October 2014
Appeal Hearings April/May 2015

Please note that the Registration Form is simply a request for a child to be tested for eligibility for a place at any Consortium grammar school. Submission of a registration form does not constitute an expression of preference for any particular school.

Hi, do anybody know if in CAF both Langley and Herschel school could be written down as two choices? Few years back, it used to be like, either you can put down Herschel or Langley, either of the two schools, writing down both schools names would basically resulted in wastage of one of your choices in CAF!Not sure if anything about this has been mentioned in the 11+ open evenings at these schools

Not sure what the admissions/catchment is for these two schools. That would be he main issue as far as I can see.

You could include both schools (or even all of the grammars in Slough) in your CAF. All these schools have slightly different admission criteria and different cut-off scores, although the entrance test is the same.
