Hi, I am wondering does it matter whether my DS sits the test in Slough or Reading boys in Sep 15? I think I know it doesnt matter as the results can be shared and the CAF has to be completed in Oct 15.....but just need reassurance just so I dont mess up. Tx

No it doesn't matter which school you sit the test at, just check the box for sharing test results on the application form.

However, make sure you're in catchment for Reading if you're going to share results for Reading - otherwise it's just an academic exercise, the high number of (in catchment) applicants is such that no one gets a place from outside of catchment. I'm not as sure about the Slough schools though.

Langley has clear catchment policy and this year it seems there are 2-3 postcodes where the kids with passing marks will get preference compared to others.

St Bernard is mainly faith school but other two schools in the consortium do have some free seats but rest seats are by distance though I forgot the number of free seats. Slough council will be able to tell the numbers otherwise one can call the the respective school to find out.

But ofcourse for filling up the CAF it doesn't matter whether one has taken the exam at Slough or Reading. The scores are different and places are alloted based on respective area scores.
