DD has received a letter Today from one of current Year 7 girls which she found surprising and interesting. Is this a usual practice or new this year?

DD got one before she started and wrote one (I think to one of Tigermum's DDs) when she was in year 7.

Year 7s pick who they want to write to and are encouraged to write to a girl at they former primary if there is one or someone they know. I think it's a lovely thing to do.

If I recall correctly, your DD will meet her letter buddy and be shown round by her in September. She may even meet her buddy on the induction day next week

I think it's a lovely thing too. Yr 7s wrote those letters after their end of year exams, a nice way to round off that week.
