Can someone please confirm that the places are allocated to by the highest score rankings and by living in the designated area? That is, if I live in Maidenhead then distance will only become an issue in a tie-break scenario?

Yes that is correct. Places awarded on score.

Is only the standardised score available or do we have a view of the raw scores obtained for each cohort?

I don’t have any info on raw scores as such but there may have been a FOI asking for them. Since it’s now CEM I’m not sure if they actually give that info out.

TBH I don’t think it really helps anyway, as raw scores will vary from year to year of the test difficulty is different and the standard of the cohort is different.

For 2017 entry (test 2016)
1) qualifying score is 108 (lower than previous years and lower than kendrick)
2) 138 day places
3)697 sat at Reading, 184 elsewhere meaning a total of 881
4) 282 qualified
5) 198 qualified in designated area.
Cutoff on allocations day, highest place on the waiting list 110.69
Tinkers, apparently this was for a boarding place? The lowest entry mark for a day a day pupil was 113.6. Whilst chatting to some friends, it seems that there was someone on the waiting list with 113.4 who did not get a place in September 2017.

I think this was from Reading schools own website. So true but misleading, as I don’t think it said it was a boarding place. I’ll update. Thanks

hi Tinkers and Blueberry - I noted some discrepancy in the numbers you have each stated in this thread for final cut off score for day and boarding places. Can either of you reconfirm what the final entry for day place was for 2017 entry? Many Thanks

The results highlighted are direct from Reading School themselves, so I’d expect them to be the correct version.
