pass %

Post by Guest »

Hi there

What does a score of 111 correspond to as a percentage? In other words, on the test papers, what percentage score equates to a pass mark?

Thanks!

It varies from year to year depending on the cohort. In addition, individual scores are adjusted according to the child age.

Here's an explanation about the standardised scores

For Slough, 111 is said to correspond to a percentage of about 80%, but it is best to aim for 85% to be on the safe side.

I have beem looking at the link for the table it shows the marks upto the age of children to 10yr 6mths. My son just turned 11 when he took the test how would this work.

Sorry for sounding so dumb.

The table in the link is only a partial table and does not show ages up to say, 10 years, 11 months or percentages higher than 90% on the left hand vertical table.

Did you read the nfer link that was on the page you opened?
It explains it in more detail. So ,as your son is already 11, he will have to make fewer mistakes to have a high standardised score.

All percentages and standardised scores will depend on the cohort sitting that particular year and will vary from the years before but as Catherine pointed out, it is usually 80 -85% to secure a grammar place in Slough.
