Last year day places closed at 111.79 with cut off score of 110. This year cut off is 108 , may be to due to less number of boys scored above 110 as compared to last year. Does that mean this year last offered place score will go lesser? Let's see ... Game On!

Hi,

Will a score in the region of 115-116 be considered as "safe" or is it still on border line? This waiting game is so nerve wracking...

Last year's cut off was 112.07 on allocations day, so I think you should be fine, especially since the qualifying score has gone down too.

I think you should be fine as well. Cut off on allocations day last year was 112.07 but he qualifying score was higher.

Personally I think boys have not done well this year, because the girls pass mark is 110 and 170 girls in catchment have qualified for 96 places.
where as for the boys with pass mark of 108 , only 198 boys in catchment have qualified for 136 seats,
Again this is my personal opinion...

Last year, you could extract information from the Reading School regarding the full test result ( scores and position ) of Reading School and how many pupils were OCC when they registered. Please could you do it for us this time as well.
My son scored 113.98. So very slim chances of getting in. We are n catchment though.
I think Indiemom asked the school under a FOI act request last year, so there's nothing to stop you doing this yourself. However you will be unlikely to get the answer back before submitting your CAF.
You stand a reasonable chance of a place with that score and I would certainly put it on your CAF.

Thanks Tinkers. Do I need to mention specifically in my e-mail that I am requesting this information
under FOI as the school website says that they cannot provide any information other than mentioned in FAQs?

I'm no expert of FOI as I've never done it for anything, but I suspect that yes you would have to.

Don't expect it quickly though, they have a time frame in which they have to respond.
