Hi,

I live in Wokingham (Berkshire) and hoping to apply for Slough Grammar schools for my daughter. Upton Court and Herschel's are the two from the Slough authority I will be placing on the list of preferences.

However, I want to put Berkshire schools as preference 3 and 4. Do I need to separately apply using a 2 CAF form's from Berkshire and Slough or can I just place 4 preferences in Berkshire CAF.

Also, any ideas as to whether I need to fill in an application form separately for Slough schools?

any advice appreciated

You apply for all state secondary schools via the CAF through Wokingham (if thats where you pay council tax to), even if they come under a different LA, in this case Slough.

I’m not sure what you mean by Berkshire schools though, as Berkshire County Counncil hasnt existed for many years. Do you mean Wokngham schools, Slough schools, or (doending on where you are in Wokingham) Bracknell Forest or Reading.

Another though.
Have you considered the journey to the Slough schools?
I thunk Herschel has a coach service from pars of Earley, but know of nothing for Upton Court.
Tbh it seems like a long journey for a school when there are excellent schools in Wokingham.

Thank you so much for the information. Yes, I mean Wokingham schools.
Regarding the commute, there are other interested children in our area and we plan to go for private transportation.

Didn't get enough score to get into Kendrick, so keeping options open by placing Slough schools on the CAF.

Which Wokingham schools are options for you? Most of them are very good options.
