Hi,

My dd is preparing for Kendrick and Slough Consortium. At this stage what sort of scores are considered good for CGP or other CEM style papers as well as Mock tests from SD? I hear from many people that kids should get 90-95% to secure a seat. Is that true ?

Many thanks

Above 90% used to be the guideline for the old GL kendrick test, but I doubt that’s the case with the CEM test that’s used now and I would expect it to be lower

My DD did the old GL test so I’ve no idea how much lower the scores on CEM would be.

There’s no magic number. cEM tends to have lower marks because it’s speed dependet and not every child is expected to finish.

But you can’t possibly attribute a particular score to a result because the real exam has a mix of entrants and this may not be the same as the cohort sitting the mocks.

So just be encouraging to your DC and try not to panic if the results you see are jot super-good. It’s technique, effort and decent performance on the day that will get your DC the result they deserve.
