Re: KENDRICK RESULTS 2018 (2019 entry)
Found it interesting that the qualifying score has gone down from 110 to 107 since last year, but all this seems to have done is increase the number of qualifying scores - last year 253 qualified and 180 were in catchment, this year 334 qualified and 225 were in catchment.
Last year there were on about 25 scores in each mark band (i.e. 110-110.99 etc) until you get above 117, so if you add that to the qualifying numbers last year for the 3 point qualifying difference you are not far off - and there's also 7.4% more applicants this year.
All in all I can't see the lowest admitted score altering much from the last 6 years which has seen it around the 113-115 range.
The lower qualifying score will open it up to more children who meet the priority criteria, which can only be a good thing
Keeping my fingers crossed for March!

Borderline maybe?
Thanks, I was looking for this information. As the qualifying score is low this year, would a score of 114ish + in catchment area have chances to get a place?

114.xx has got in the the last few years with a QS of 110 so I’d say you should be fine
Re: KENDRICK RESULTS 2018 (2019 entry)
hi ,
my dd got 118.95 and in catchment.
Can we be confident of the score to get into Kendrick?

Re: KENDRICK RESULTS 2018 (2019 entry)
Does anyone have any insights into why the qualifying score would be dropped to 107?
On first reading, I thought it was a sign that the mark distribution was odd. Or is that fixed in the scaling of scores? In which case, why drop by three marks?
I know there is no point in dwelling on this. We just decide whether to put Kendrick on the form, then wait it out. Doesn't stop me wondering though.

Our daughter scored 115.47 - higher than we were expecting! It sounds like in previous years that would have been enough, but this year with higher numbers passing in catchment, but then a lower pass score, we're not so sure? Any guesses?
Re: KENDRICK RESULTS 2018 (2019 entry)
I have done some analysis to understad why the qualifying score has been dropped from 110 to 107.
First, the number of children qualified this year from outside catchment are 109, which is very high compare to previous years.
Among those 109, there is a probablity that majority of them have achieved a high scores.
In order to fill the 96 seats, they need to get the qualifying score down to 107 to be able to fill 96 seats (leaving the children from outside catchment).
I hope this helps.

What are the chances of someone getting 115.6X getting into Kendrick?
