FOI request refused at Kendrick

I see that Kendrick has declined a request to provide a full list of ranked scores including those for OOC for 2019 entry into Year 7. The same message appears on their website. The justification is that the information will be in the public domain in March and that there is no public benefit in access to the data before then. Is this a new approach for this year?

The responses to the same request from Reading School are just an acknowledgement that the request has been received. I suppose once we've filled in the CAF that's job done anyway. Seeing the rankings after that point won't change what went on the form but it would still be interesting.

This information will be published on the school's website in March 2019.
We are not obliged under section 22 of the FOIA to provide information that is intended for future publication. In line with the terms of this exemption, we have considered whether it would be in the public interest for us to provide you with the information ahead of publication, despite the exemption being applicable. In this case, we have concluded that the public interest favours withholding the information.

The information wouldn’t be received before before you have to fill in the CAF so it really doesn’t help. It doesn’t tell parents anything about how everyone else is filling in their CAFs so tbh doesn’t help. So they are right, there is no public benefit.

It also takes up resources at the school putting together the info (they have to do some work it make it suitable for public release.) As a parent of a DD at kendrick I’d Personally prefer their resources were used for the girls already there.

I believe the FOI in previous years was published in their website, upon request in Nov/Dec?
I thought this would give a rough indication of the ranking based on this list ,although I fully agree that this doesn't indicate/consider CAF preferences etc..

They have in previous years, but it’s not published in the school side as such. It doesn’t help parents really, and it’s work for the school to provide.

Sorry , when I meant received upon request and not published.
But I though if we have the list, at least we can see how many are qualified and where is our score in the list ( E.g. say in 180 member qualified in catchment, if the score is say 116 at least it gives an approximate indication on the rank i,e., how many are before 116 and qualified)
But anyways as school decided this year to not share this until 01Mar19, all we can do is to wait..

thanks
