My DS got 126 and we live just over 5 miles away.

No way would 128 not get a place at Upton,

As you are in the same LA as the others with high scores who also didn't get a place, I'd say there's definitely something more to this!

Yes Upton was frist choice.
Upton... Langley... Herschel as the order of preference.

Aside from that as for any state school, they have to be maintained at least until 31st December of year 7, in oversubscription criteria order and that one's position on them can move down as well as up, as DC being added must be placed on the list accordong to those criteria? No, sorry, not my area, so anything I know about a particular school will be from reading on here or looking at the school / LA website :) .
