they are both good!

They are both oversubscribed and both have tight cachement areas, so which you are likely to actually get is dependent on exactly where you live and, for Langley Academy, whether your child is at a feeder school (Langley Academy Primary and Langley Heritage Primary- was called Parlaunt Park- are the two feeders for Langley Academy).

If you live more than a mile away you are fairly unlikely to get Langley Academy unless at a feeder school or with an older sibling there.
If you live more than 1.5 miles away you are fairly unlikely to get Ditton Park unless you have a sibling there.
BUT you can still put them both down high on your CAF form cos if you don’t get either you can apply for their waiting lists.

Did your DC get a passing Slough mark, or are you hoping to appeal? if so and you are trying for a Grammar space, you MUST put the grammar school(s) you want ABOVE the nonselectives, because once the LA have offered you one space, they will discount all the others and you WON’t be able to go onto waiting lists!

So if your DC got 109 (eg),but you are appealing, put down

1) the grammar you really want
2) TLA or Ditton
3) Ditton Or TLA
4) Another comprehensive you are nearish to and could cope with if not the others
5) Another comp you like

If NONE of these are available you’ll get a random (probably undersubscribed) school.
so always make sure you have two schools on there that you’re pretty likely to get.

is there anything in particular you want to know about those schools?

I have a DD in Langley Academy and a couple of friends whose children go to Ditton Park.

It really does depend on where you live though: if you’re in Cippenham or Maidenhead you’ll have no chance of these schools, if you’re in Datchet or Colnbrook you’re much better off applying for Churchmead.
