Hi,

Confused about 2019 admissions at St. Bernard's Catholic Grammer School. Historical data suggests that in 2019, last admission was offered for "All eligible children from Category 1-8 scoring 111 or above and children from Category 9 living within a 5.7 mile radius, rank score down to 113."

Does this mean that for Category 9, all applicants were offered places down to 114 (regardless of distance) and then 5.7 miles was the tie-breaker for students with a score of 113?

If Category 9 is, 'In score order, ranked within score by distance', then yes, it says that.

(Not knowing the school, I'm assuming that Cat 9 isn't, 'Living within a 5.7 mile radius, ranked by score').

This is taken from their admission policy
I'm assuming it would apply to Cat 9 (Any other children)

"If necessary, the Governing Body will determine an order of priority within the above categories based on the following criteria in this order of priority:
1. Children currently in receipt of the Pupil Premiumviii.
2. On the child’s score in the Selective Tests.
In the event of one or more eligible pupils being tied for the final place or places at the school, priority will be decided by proximity to the school"
