CEM results 2020 2021

Post by Da22 »

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post so please bear with me. I am completely new to this forum.
My DD got a score of 106.43 in Kendrick’s and 113 in Slough. The letter says anyone over 105 qualifies.
Is this a generic rule? I see last year was 108 but was wondering what was the highest score last year vs this year. If it is lower then any chance the lowest cut off can be 106?
We are in catchment P2. Does she stand a chance? Or should we only focus on Buckinghamshire schools in the CAF form.

Sorry too many questions and Thanks for your help!

Someone local should be able to answer your question about Kendrick, although from the scores admitted previously they don't seem to go down to the qualifying score.
Where are you based that you would hope to get admission to Buckinghamshire schools (roughly)? If you are thinking of Kedrick I'm not sure you would be close enough to any of the Bucks schools. (ETA, I see that the P2 area goes out a long way). The allocation distance for 2020 entry in Bucks can be found here

Which Bucks ones were you hoping for? Depending on where you live in Maidenhead, Burnham Grammar or Sir William Borlase might be a possibility, otherwise Wycombe High School looks like the only other one? BGS & SWBGS went out to a little over 3 miles each this year, and WHS about 12.5. I believe you have some good schools in Maidenhead as well?

Wycombe high & Borlase are most convenient. The bus for Wycombe High comes right next time our house and my DD swims in Wycombe so ticks a lots of boxes.

If you have a look at the historic data thread here (I’ve just updated with today’s new info), it might help.

Given your DDs score though and the fact you are P2, I suspect it’s highly unlikely.

Thanks. But this year Kendrick’s qualifying has come down to 104, so wondering if the scores are slightly on the lower side?

If you have Kendrick first on the CAF they will just disregard it if your DD doesn't qualify so I wouldn't worry too much. Presumably you have several other schools on the CAF including one that you are confident she will get?

Sadly I don’t think it will be enough for you. The lowest score last year was for P1.
Looking at last year’s allocation thread the lowest score for P2 was a fair bit higher.

Many thanks. If I put Wycombe high as the 2nd choice, she won’t be at a disadvantage?
I don’t want her to miss out on a grammar school place after all this hard work cause we did not put schools in the right order.
Hence the question.
