KENDRICK ADMISSION

Post by Doss »

We have been trying to get admission in Kendrick Grammar for my daughter,as I got transfered suddenly. They are already in year 7 in grammar school in Greater Manchester.
School accepted our application and said we are on waiting list(which I believe is close to 10),and provided there is a vacancy they will conduct the examination. They also told us not to have big hopes as nobody leaves this grammar school.
Anybody else have any such experience?Realistically speaking what is the chance that such examination does take place? What other options should I consider?

Hi Doss,

Both Reading & Kendrick have very low turnover of pupils. It is the odd one or two a year so at number ten on the list it may never happen.

If you look at ofsted report from 2000 for Kendrick (later shorter reports do not have this info. ask the school?)

Pupil mobility in the last school year No of pupils
Pupils who joined the school other than at the usual time of first admission 5
Pupils who left the school other than at the usual time of leaving 3

Numbers refer to whole school not just year seven!

I think you have also posted about Slough schools possibly more chances in that area? :)

Good luck with your transition plans.
