READING SCHOOL ALLOCATIONS 2022

Post by Tinkers »

In preparation for allocations day I've set up this thread, for those who have applied to Reading school.
I'll update the historic admissions thread with info the school usually provide (this is usually in the schools FAQs on their website ), however if you wish to, it is may be helpful to others to post your score/distance (if it's around the cutoff mark) as well as saying if you got a place or not.

Scores and waiting list positions may also be helpful, if you are happy to share them.

If you haven't got a place and want to appeal then I suggest you head over to our appeals section first.
https://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/appeals" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you still have questions then head over to the appeals section of the forum.

Any questions about the school etc, please start a new thread and keep this one about places, scores waiting lists etc.

I hear that the current offer cut off is a total of 225 (with creative writing of the standard and in catchment = Yes). Can anyone confirm if they have got below this score and been offered? It will be of great help to prospective parents to decide.

We have been offered a place with 123.9 English and 103.1 Maths so total 227.

My son's total is exactly 225 (with creative writing of the standard and in the catchment). He didn't get a place.
I heard someone got a place with 225.01

There maybe someone on 225 who lives closer who has got a place. If that’s the case then you are likely very high on the waiting list.

Score 222.4
WL18

What is likeliness of getting WL cleared that low?

I’ve never really had info for the Reading WL or seen how much it typically moves.

Trying to get my head around this all as we will be sitting for 2023 entry later this year. Out of curiosity how far are you from the school?

Less than 5 miles, in Reading itself. Though they only use the distance in a score tie-break situation I believe - as long as you're inside the catchment, the score is the only thing that matters.
