Hi Rochelle,

You need to contact Herschel and ask whether they can tell if your son will definitely get an offer from them or not.

If there is any doubt, you need to consider adding Slough Grammar to your list.
It is easier to change a second preference than a first in Slough. You need to change both you application for Slough grammars held by Herschel, and the CAF held by the council.
If you alter your preference lists, it is best to do it ASAP.

Best of luck with Herschel

Hi Everyone

I wasn't trying to be a stirrer..... just repeating what I heard. Maybe playground gossip as I said. If I was in that position I'd want to know what my chances were.

I think contacting the school is a good idea - let us know how you get on Rochelle.

Hi JuliaB,

I don't think that anyone even remotely thought that you are a stirrer.
I do agree that it is best to have all possible information, and I am sure that you helped some parents with making sure that their child will at least get one offer from a grammar.

Regards

Hi Rochelle

Have you appealed for the Bucks school?

Look if it helps the head 'J Harris' visited our school last year and assured everyone that if they passed they would be offered a place. From our school I know of atleast 10 chldren who got into Herscel and certainly two live in Bucks and scored 111.
