It does depend on the allocation rule. There may be some that will go on to be offered Langley, Tiffin, Reading Boys etc (as their 1st pref) depending on the waiting lists. . Unfortunately the process is not as transparent as say 'Bucks'...... and most of the info I have on offers has been gained from the forum.

These are the figures from last year...(thanks Bewildered) as you can see... all schools were oversubscribed.

Slough Grammar..... Number of Applicants 1416... PAN 145
Langley Grammar.... Number of Applicants 1575... PAN 145
Herschel Grammar... Number of Applicants 1654... PAN 120
St Bernard Grammar.Number of Applicants 578... PAN 120

The Ombudsmans full report and their recommendations for the consortiums waiting list admission procedure can be found here...

I believe that the final score is the two papers combined.... divided by 2.... and then standardised....

You can find a short discussion on standardisation and Slough Grammars here

Where would a score of 127 leave a child? For example, in what percentile, roughly, would that place the child?
And for an OOC candidate, what are the chances for SGS with a score of 127?

And, anybody know the likelihood of winning an appeal for the Slough consortium, based on the score?
Thanks!

Hi Sparks,

With the criteria changing we have no historical data on scores and offers.
Slough Grammar now takes the first 100 on score and then 45 on pass mark and distance.

Before the change in criteria first round offers were around the 114/115, this means that of the applicants who put SGS on the CAF as their first choice, or possibly second choice (and did not reach the first offer score of their first choice) there were 145 that had between 114/115 and 141.
I would expect this to rise as there are now only 100 offered on score but obviously as you reach the higher scores there will be less applicants on each score.
I cannot say that 127 is guaranteed but I would be cautiously optimistic.

Hi SUpple,

Each appeal for the consortium is individual, there are no 'spare' places to be filled in the Grammars as they are always oversubscribed. You are appealing for a place at the school and really need to have evidence that your child should have achieved well above the pass mark (not just 111). Therefore you firstly need hard academic evidence to show that the score was well below the ability of the child.......Sats of 5's is a good starting point.
Therefore there is no percentage based on score as it is a small percentage that even get through the appeal.
I personally prefer the Bucks system....much more transparent.

Chad,

I believe we do have good academic evidence, including level 5s in Sats. I just think after about 18months of preparation for the 11+, an appeal is our last shot - and it's worth trying! Thanks.
