I wonder whether the Shropshire/Walsall/Wolverhampton consortium will follow suit?

My first thought was whether one reason why Birmingham have switched might be to make it different from Shropshire/Walsall/Wolverhampton, to discourage parents from entering children for both areas and using the first test as practice. I believe that, for quite a few years, the Shropshire/Walsall/Wolverhampton happened first, providing a useful warm-up for the Birmingham cohort. It's been the other way round for the past couple of years though. I'm sure it is quite expensive to administer the test, so a reduction in applicants would be beneficial.
