Re: ALLOCATIONS QM & WALSALL 1st March 2022
Thanks for that Twinmomma.
In what month did your son move to 10th place if you can remember?
I suppose it depends very much how far in the year we get. A lot of families might have made the choice to take a place elsewhere?
I have also read in the school regulations that if some place(s) become available once the academic year has started, they test all applicants that are on the waiting list regardless of how well they did at the entry test. I don't know how far in the year that is.

Re: ALLOCATIONS QM & WALSALL 1st March 2022
By early September he was 10th if I recall correctly and the list didn’t move. My understanding is that they keep the list for the first term and by January it is scrapped and as you son sat the test they are unable to reapply until 6th Form regardless if places do become available in various academic year.
I regularly checked with QM admissions and the local authority every 3/3.5 weeks for updates.
Fingers crossed for your son. Please do keep us updated.

I just found out my son is now placed 7 on the waiting list. Wow! Keep crossing fingers!

Just an update, my son scored 323.5 and started I think at around 27 on the waiting list, checked today and he’s 57! I assume a lot of late applicants- local comp for us. Just thought I’d update on here for anyone else waiting.

QMHS
A friend's DD scoring 317 was offered a place from the waiting list on 29th June.
Good luck to anyone else waiting.

STOC22 wrote:My DS scored 327.59. This was on the late entry test in March and he's now in 11th place. Though I thought we'd be considered 'exceptional circumstances' because we newly moved in the area and therefore might be considered in order of merit like the others, the test was days after 1st march , which clearly means his score was considered well after everyone got their place..
So now we can only wait.
Any experience of being on the waiting list for QMGS?
What are his chances of getting in Y7 in September?
Update as of last day of August:
My son did not get a place at QMGS and is 4th on the waiting list.
Thanks for your insight and comments.

Gosh some quite late movement! Are you taking the place now? always a tricky decision after the term starts but I gather the children usually quickly forget the late arrival in the schoolSTOC22 wrote:Well, today 21st September, my DS was offered a place at QMGS,!

Congratulations to your DS, STOC22 - a very long wait but it came good eventually. Is he going to take up the place?
Re: ALLOCATIONS QM & WALSALL 1st March 2022
Not sure now. I thought it wasn't to be. He's well settled and happy in the other school now. I know it's only been 2 weeks and a bit though.
Decision time. But what decision?
He might need a bit more convincing.
He's at Walsall academy. It seems all modern and fresh there to him..
He's probably too young to make such a decision.
I have to work out something quick
