Exam Format 2010

Post by Elbart »

Hi All,

I keep on hearing that the format for QM Entrance exam is changing in 2010 from the VR/NVR multiple choice format to a one that is similar to Bishop Vesey / Sutton Girls Grammar, or is this the usual run of the mill 11+ rumours.

Thanks Elbart

I know that the teachers in QM would like a change of format and my understanding is that it may be under review.

I would have thought, however, they would prefer something closer to the KE exam than the Sutton exam, which also features conventional VR and non-VR, although also including a maths test.

Queen Mary format

I have been told by a fairly reliable source that the exam format is changing and it is to be written by the University of Durham which means it may mirror the KE and Warwickshire exams (although these are not identical).

I would suggest anyone who has a vested interest (that is, with a child doing the exam this year) checks if this is the case when the schools return.
