That's about what I'd have thought, except 1998 - the "furthest distances" in Birmingham increased quite substantially this year (on average) which implies fewer children moving to secondary. The school I'd like to be within reach for Miss 1880 next year increased its distance by about 50% which means the area it took from doubled in size! We still need about another 100 metres though...

Well I thought the baby boom year was 2000 will all the strange couples in the land wanting to have the first baby of 2000?!?!?

yes lol i did think that. i had one of the last babies of 2000 - not the first!
but according to the figures it wasn't actually much of a boom year at all. maybe quite few were born in the tail end of '99?
