Has anybody else tried logging on to the LEA web site recently? I have just been online, viewed our submission, which is unchanged (ie just lists our 6 preferences with no narrative next to them), but then opted for "printer friendly" version. And wow, it has a line added "Offer Status" and against our first choice it says, "Offered". Could that just be a default? Maybe everyone's first choice is listed as "Offered" until Sunday night at stroke of midnight when reality enters the equation and we're allocated our 6th choice. Don't know whether to be excited or not!! HELP!

Loks like that might be right. Other people seem to be saying the same thing on Everything Else (What??!! thread) so it may be that what we are seeing is actually real. How exciting.

I'm afraid I'm far from being competent on a computer (one of the reasons I'm reluctant to believe what I am seeing - always assume I've done something daft), so I have no idea how to find nor post a link, but this is what I did:

Birmingham City Council, Education & Learning, Admissions Yr7, online applications, view application status, printer friendly version.

There was a bit of clicking on options that appear on the LHS & this may not be the most direct route, but basically you need to get to YOUR application (you need your User ID and password to see it), and then it's plain sailing.

Good luck & do let us know...

Well congratulations!!!
I think if Dudley MBC could make us lot over the boarder wait another life time they would.
Checked direct with them today to see if we logged onto the website if it would tell us our allocations but OH NO 5pm on the 01/03/10.
Am really bright green with envy! - but also really pleased you have ended the painful wait with sucess!

The problem is, that I'm not sure if congrats are the order of the day at all. I'm so uncertain about my ability to access the council's website that I really need someone clever, & IT-savvy to come along to confirm that, yes, this is how the system works.

It's down right mean of Dudley not to at least email at midnight on Sunday / Monday. Why wait til 5pm. Ahh...

Oh, I wish I could help with this, and I do hope I haven't just set a hare off running. The title at the top of the page you need is Birmingham Online Admissions. Is it worth googling that?

Where are all those clever, old hands when you need them?

I'm not in your area so I'm not sure but I think that if you click here http://secondary-adm.bgfl.org:81/admissions/prefs.php and put in your user name and stuff, you should be where you need to be. Then you just need to find a bit that says "printer friendly option"

Sorry if you've already got that far, but I thought I'd try to help :)
