I would be interested in obtaining the lowest pass scores for the various KE Grammars this year so I can update the 'Sticky' at some point for the benefit of future parents.

I anyone has requested scores and finds this out, I would be grateful if they would reply to this post with the details.

Ken - I have some data!!!

The scores ranged from between 193 and 424.

KE Aston - score of last child to be admitted - 331, number of applicants 1463
KE Camp Hill Boys - score of last child- 353, no. of applicants 1219
KE Five ways, score of last child - 336, no. of applicants 1799

My son is 348th on the waiting list for Aston, 435th for CHB and 503rd for KEFW - I think I'll hold off on the appeal

Edited to add - my sons score was 295.

Hope that's of some use to you!

Ken - have been told by KE's that 1180 girls applied for Camp Hill and those with a score above 328 were offered a place. Hope this helps.

Thanks for this.

Interesting results, big increase in the number of applicants and hence the pass marks which are the highest ever.

To get into KE Camp Hill boys a child would have had to score an average minimum standardised score of 118 per section. Sign of the times I guess.

Regards

Ken

I know you weren't interested in SCGSG, but in case anyone else is you needed 318 to get onto the waiting list. They are posting DD2's scores tonight.

This is what I've received from KE

KE Handsworth - score of last child to be admitted - 321, number of applicants 1255

The scores of candidates this year ranged between 193 and 424 (with 300 being the average standardised score).

Hope this helps

The number of applicants per school.

Is it the number of children who had the school as first preference or the cummulative total of all applicants who had said school within their 6 preferences.

I would presume it was the number who took the test - that won't be the same as the number who listed it somewhere which will be much lower.

I would think the number of applicants would be the number of children who listed it somewhere on their form whether 1st, 2nd etc. Even if you have listed it as 6th, then you have applied for the school in a sense so would be an applicant.
