Doubt in maths question relating to cuboid-----please help

Post by anxious_mother »

it says :
look at the net of a cuboid above
there are total no. of 64 squares given i.e( 7rows and 8 columns + 2rows and 2 columns attached to 2 sides of the net ) if each side of the square is 2cm

1. what is the total surface area of the cuboid ?
2. what is the volume of the cuboid ?

the solution we got was :
1. surface area= 64 *2cm *2cm =256 cm square
2. volume= 7*2*4*4 = 224 cm cube

is this the right answer ?

I'm not 100% sure I have understood the question correctly, but if you are describing a 4x4x14cm cuboid (which is what I have interpreted from your description of the net), then yes, your surface area and volume are correct.
