Re: Happy Eid
Just picked up our qarbani meat this morning. Now distribution time. Inshallah one day we will be able to slaughter the lambs with our own hands as Allah has prescribed. Before then let's respect the secular laws here till we have permissions.
Enjoy the fresh lamb everybody;
Eid Mubarek to all once again

Hi, hope you don't mind me asking, but what is qarbani meat? Is it a similar thing to halal? Hope I don't come across ignorant, but I have never heard of this before.

Re: Happy Eid
Qurbāni, as referred to in Islamic Law, is the sacrifice of a livestock animal during Eid-ul-Adha. It is the act of sacrifice itself at this most holiest time and marks the completion of hajj in Mecca. It is every ones duty to undertake this and distribute the meat equally between oneself, family and the poor.

Re: Happy Eid
During this Eid animals are sacrificed to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim's sacrifice. The meat is then divvied into 3 portions, one for the poor, one for friends and family and the last portion for self.nervousmom wrote:Hi, hope you don't mind me asking, but what is qarbani meat?
