Queen marys grammar school for boys

Post by Busymummy1309 »

Hi
My son got 309 as his results, does that mean there is a chance of still putting qmgs as a preference. Help first time confused mother.
Does anybody know who has got 309 or less and still got in?

The last score in to QMG (Boys) as of March last year was 318.

Firstly congratulations as your ds has done well to score 309 in a very competitive exam.
However, it does not appear to be very likely that this cut-off could drop by as much as 9 points, as I am not aware of the school expanding this year.

Nevertheless it will do no harm to place on your LA application form and stay on the waiting list if possible; as KenR said, sometimes places can even become available in the Autumn term.
You may wish to ask the school or LA what the final score in was by September once children from the waiting list had been admitted.

Just to note that QMH (girls) had a lower cut-off score at 309.
