Don't know if this is of any use,

My son sat the KE exam last year, i got the break down of his maths/nVr scores as he didn't do well as expected.
He is an October born, scored 233 overall, 123 in english & 110 in maths /nVr.
This is the break down given to me by the foundation office-

Maths 1- 18 questions
14 attempted
10 correct

Maths 2 - 20 questions
20 attempted
15 correct

NVr 1. 32 questions
32 attempted
21 correct

nVr 2. 21 questions
21 attempted
11 correct

Giving him a score of 110 maths/nVr
Hope this helps .

Thanks very much for this M. It's really useful- it ties up with my calculations fairly accurately. If you don't mind me saying M - it looks ultimately the nvr and oct birth counted against him.
Anyone else kind enough to share score breakdowns?

Thanks - so that will give us a raw score of 62.6% which standardises to 110. Pretty much in line with what would be expected.

It seems to me that it's in maths which can make a big difference in sd scores - you only need to check out previous year's average raw scores in maths - you're only getting around 25%. Nvr is around 67% and vr 56%. If your dc scores above or below these averages, I believe, then you know where you stand. Plus the age allowance- upto 4 extra points I believe.
This will only give you a rough guide- maybe within 5-6 marks.
It's this year's cohort average that might put the spanner in the works. Then again it seems to be the same parity each year- last year's paper was supposedly easier than this year- apparently. Unfortunately we didn't have much feedback from last year to corroborate this assertion.

My eldest sat the Walsall consortium test in 2012. I received the following results from school by quoting FOI.
Raw Score
Verbal: 87
Mathematics: 47
Non Verbal: 32

Standardised
Verbal: 117
Mathematics: 134
Non Verbal :125

Weighted Score
Total weighted standardised score: 371

It's worth noting that his total standardised score was actually 376, but reduced down to 371 due to being a September birth. Hence, it can make a difference of up to 5 points if you are the oldest.

But they never told us what the raw score was out of so I do not know if this is helpful.

Last years maths was more challenging then this year. I have had another child sit the exam this year. The timings were more generous this year, and the maths was easier. Even though, it was my son's weakest area I believe the NVr was easier last year. From feedback, I would say this years exam was easier.

Thanks for the info MSD but like you say it's difficult with those raw scores although vza's formula might be a guidance.

This is super. Do you have a raw marks breakdown for VR, too.

Sorry, no as he did well in the VR. I just queried the maths/nVr. Though, in hindsight I should have.

I've known the FO to give info a year later after the test - you never know M - but you might have to ask kindly :)
