The only reason I was inclined that way was because of the over shadowing factor. Just want little one to be independent and find his own way. But I completely take your point.

Thankfully my dd gets home around 4.15 as we're fairly close to the GS and believe me she's plenty independent and is finding her own way - in a good way thankfully
I know someone who sends their ds to chb from handsworth wood and absolutely hates the travelling- dad wishes that he had chosen Aston - he admits it was a decision made from a snobbish viewpoint - I know of a lot of dp who think this way in thinking chb is the best but it's not always the right choice.
7 years is a long time......
