Re: KES Scholarship result at interview?
He thoroughly enjoys it, the travelling is the only part he struggles with. We are approx 12 miles away and catching the train can be a little difficult especially during the winter months. Participating in sports and other after school activities he feels he cant fully take part as he always has a great deal of homework to get through most nights. He is in the rugby team and most Saturdays are taken up with that.SSINGH77 wrote:Blue jay how has your son enjoyed his experience at kes
We will await the results on 12th Feb (KES) & 1st March and then make a decision about whether DS2 will join him there.
If he does opt for KES he too will need to catch the train, however if he decides on Five Ways (hopefully he will be offered that school on a score of 236) we will go with that.
They are both equally excellent schools and ultimately it comes down to your child and what they can cope with and which one they prefer (travelling is a major consideration).
With 5 ways he will go by car as we have already looked into car share with a few family and friends. DS2 said he prefers mixed to a single sex also, so there are lots of factors to consider.
Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the insight.
We will make our final decision after 1/3 and go from there.

Re: KES Scholarship result at interview?
My DS was also invited for scholarship interview at KES and had it last week. He was in for 15-20 minutes (Mr C and Mr Phillips) after which we were called in for a 'chat' with Mr C.Shnshn wrote:brc - im pretty sure it was 70 places as i remember thinking it was higher than what i had thought previously.
Good luck to all those being called for interview.
In general they are calling boys 2 days before the interview.
Nicole Phillips did say she gets many calls from parents asking if their son would be called but obviously she just cannot tell them until its their turn to be called if they are on the list.
They get through many interview in a day, there were 4 other boys around the same time as my DS, we arrived about 45 mins early!!!!
AP - I could be wrong but some one else at our school said 35 children had been called for AP interviews out of 75 AP applicants......
