Open Days

Post by imranb »

Hello Helpful Souls,

Most of the Open Day dates for DCs appearing for 11+ this Sep are already published. Some of the time slots aren't very convenient for parent and child both to attend together. My question is do KE schools (CHB, Aston and BV in particular) entertain school visits outside of the published dates? If yes, how do we go about doing it?

Best thing to do is to contact the schools direct and have a chat with them.

Sometimes the school website may provide a bit more information too.

Previously you were asking about KES (Stratford). When we visited it was an evening in June.

What about KEFW(mixed)? Green bus from Shirley. Open evening here is usually beginning of September.

Hi imranb

There are more dates than just September here:

http://www.kingedwardthesixth.org/2016_ ... 104102.pdf

BV - July 2nd - a Thursday late afternoon/ early evening

Camp hill boys - is only sept after the exam to be fair.

KEA - Saturday 27th of June 9-12.

To be honest open evenings were really crowded (we've visited camp hill girls and five ways in the past) and it is very hard for your child to get a sense of the school among thousands of people. When small fry was offered her place at camp hill they did offer a visit during the school day with a range of dates. It was a small group - maybe twenty kids with one or both parents and incredibly reassuring to have a calm, ordinary school day playing out around us. Teachers seemed friendly - maybe because they new she was coming - much more pleasant atmosphere to see the school frankly. Helped settle small fry about going there.
