Just be honest with the Bursar about your outgoings and incomings - if they don't think you can afford it, they can still withdraw the offer of the place (and will do that if there is no money in the bursary pot left, which is very likely at this stage.)
This is taken directly from page 5 of the schools booklet of information on assisted places.

"Parents with family income under £20,000 can expect to pay no fees. Parents with family income
between £20,000 and £72,000 can expect to pay a reduced level of fees and the scale is available
on the school website. If a family also has a lot of ‘capital assets’ for example a house with no
mortgage or significant savings or investment in a family business, we will also take this into
account when calculating the fees.
Some families may have unusual financial circumstances which mean that although their annual
income is low and on paper they are eligible for assistance, they are able to enjoy a very
comfortable lifestyle, such as expensive holidays, extravagant birthdays gifts such as cars and buy
to let property be that through family connections, employment through a family business or
sophisticated financial planning. The underlying ethos of the Assisted Places programme is to
support the brightest children in Birmingham to come to this school who could not otherwise
afford to come so should it become obvious that a pupil’s lifestyle is inconsistent with the level of
Assisted Places award provided, the school reserves the right to investigate further and to use
other alternative methods to assess affordability of fees. "

You have nothing to worry about but expect a detailed assessment of your financial situation to ensure full fees are affordable for a number of years.
In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

Hope you had a nice break.

We have an appointment next week to see the bursar to prove we can afford the fees for a full fee place but we still want Assisted Place option left available to us because a full fee place is doable for us but very difficult at the same time.(It will require us to make changes.)

Any tips

Thanks in advance.
I hesitate to pry, but I thought you said that your offer at KEHS was full-fee? Are you now being offered an AP? Or am I getting two schools mixed up?

Any advice will be appreciated as I have no experience of either. Thankyou.

Toad mum....we would have to pay full fees at KEHS and we have 30% off at ehs.

Of course changes are to be expected...... But the question is how big the changes will be. The school themselves say they don't want parents to struggle so we do have to be careful of this. This can also effect a child. Our income at the moment is not that high. We just haven't qualified for AP because our child is further down on the list. Even with changes it may be difficult If it wouldn't be we wouldn't have a dilemma.
