Hi

We don't have huge amounts of info on the scores required to be offered a place on March 1st. This can vary each year and we rely on people reporting scores and places on the allocation day.
The cutoff on March 1st last year appeared to be a bit lower than 330 and apparently a place was offered at 319 in late April (however not sure how accurate this is).

I have merged your 2 posts into one thread - makes it easier to follow.

I'm not sure how the scores are calculated - we will have to wait for a local expert. :?

For the Walsall/Wrekin exam (which includes Adam's Grammar) children's scores are weighed 3-way - so around a third for Maths, a third for NVR and a third for VR.

The scores are age standardised. They are added together to get the final score so you'd likely get an average candidate on 300.

For the Birmingham/Warks exam, scores are weighted 2-way - around half for Maths and NVR together and half for VR. These are added together to get the final score so you'd likely get an average candidate on 200.

Also - if your LA or Adam's Grammar is able to give you the score of the last pupil to gain entry last year, please do share it with us :D

Could you clarify those are scores for the last admitted candidate for each of the schools and the source of your information. The score for qm boys is I believe not the score on the 1st March last year from what was posted last year and from other parents but would fall in line with the increased admission numbers last year.
In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.
