DD1 has just left scgsg after gcse's. (Left as they didn't offer A-level she wanted - no reflection on school)
She did really well there. It is a lovely school with great pastoral care. 66/150 girls in her year achieved all A/A*/9/8/7 this year. One of her friends got all A*/9's. I think sometimes the school gets overlooked as a lower score is required to get in but there are a LOT of really bright kids there.
DD2 is in year 9 there now and loves it.

From the Website:
GCSE Results 2017

Congratulations to all students who have taken GCSEs this year. The new GCSEs in English and Maths are incredibly challenging and we are extremely proud of everyone's achievements. Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls is once again celebrating an excellent set of GCSE examination results. 73% of all examination entries were graded A*/A, with 72% of the grades in the reformed English and Maths GCSEs being Grade 7 or higher. 100% of students gained Grade 4 (equivalent to a Grade C) or higher in English and Maths.

There were many magnificent individual performances, including eight students who achieved Grade A*/9/8 in all 11 GCSE subjects. They are Masooma Ali, Eimann Ejaz, Aisha Nadeem, Amy Porter, Tia Sherwin, Ayesha Sohial, Eleanor Steventon and Judy Tabbakh.

A further six students each achieved 10 or more Grades A*/9/8: Isabel Nguyen, Sohnal Shokar, Holly West, Seren Parri, Nilanika Sivamany and Sara Wootton.

66 students in the year group have achieved the fantastic feat of each gaining 10 or more A*-A grades and the equivalent grades 9-7 in English and Maths.

Acting Headteacher, Mrs James, said "These results are the culmination of five years of hard work and we are delighted to share in students' successes. We are also extremely appreciative of all the support given to the students from families, members of staff and the school’s Governing Body and look forward to welcoming students back to join us in the sixth form in September."

Thankyou really appreciate this advice

CHG is a long trek whereas Sutton is doable and was our first choice till the results--but I think we will stick with it
