For classical music lovers, there is a free projection on a big screen of Don Giovani on Thursday 12th of July at the University of Warwick:

Watch world-class opera beamed from the Royal Opera House directly to the Big Screen at the Piazza, for free.

For those who are not yet too much familiar with Don Giovani, here is the scene of the 'commendatore' from the film by Losey:

DD loved Warwick when we visited a couple of weeks ago, but unfortunately, I suspect that the availability of opera in the Piazza would not necessarily be the icing on the cake for her.

However, should the ROH decide to beam Dido and Aeneas to the world, I might be tempted :) .

(Ignoring the fact that the Royal Opera House must be at least eighty miles nearer to us than the University of Warwick is, of course, but for a free showing, the saving on tickets would probably more than cover the rail and bus fare ).
