How many sat test?
Hi, does anyone know how many kids sat the 2018 11+ for the Birmingham grammar schools?
Re: How many sat test?
Sorry I have no idea, but it must have been thousands. I think we were told 4 children per place sit the test, so if you look at all the schools intake it would give you an approx number.
Re: How many sat test?
There are 1272 places available for September 2019 in the Birmingham consortium of grammar schools .If my memory serves me correctly I have heard figures between 4,000 and 5,000 applicants.I however stand to be corrected.Posters have in the past given exact figures someone may know and post it.

Re: How many sat test?
I don't have information for this year, but I was googling a few weeks back and came across some FOI requests.
The information provided by Birmingham City Council had the birth month for each (anonymous) candidate and their ranked scores.
11+ admissions test in September 2016 for September 2017 admission = 5129 (lowest score 124)
11+ admissions test in September 2017 for September 2018 admission = 5491 (with some of the children scoring 0 )
So this year may see another increase

To add to the above stats, September 2015 had 5574 candidates registered to take the test.Ravensbourne wrote:I don't have information for this year, but I was googling a few weeks back and came across some FOI requests.

Re: How many sat test?
With regards to children scoring zero, I think they are children who registered - but did not attend. Since it's multiple choice questions, a zero score is unlikely, I believe.MSD wrote:To add to the above stats, September 2015 had 5574 candidates registered to take the test.Ravensbourne wrote:I don't have information for this year, but I was googling a few weeks back and came across some FOI requests.

Re: How many sat test?
I thought that may have been the case, but I also had a thought about the possibility of a child leaving the exam hall at the beginning of the exam due to nerves.
