Dear Forum Members,
I am posting this on behalf of my dearest friend.
Her DD scored 217 marks.
She wants to appeal, so what procedure she needs to follow?
Her result letter states the cut off score for 2018 as
King Edward VI Camp High School for Girls -------------236
King Edward VI Five Ways school------------------------232
King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls-------------224
Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls---------------218
Any chance for admisson in any grammar school as she is so much tensed.
Suggestions / replies / any further information will be highly appreciated.
Regards
I would also look at KE Handsworth and SCGSG and decide which if any school is your preference and put them down in your true order of preference. You are more likely to get a place at SCGSG than at KE Handsworth. It may be possible at both.In 2017 the cut off at SCGSG in March was 217 and went lower from the waiting lists.Last years cut off in March was 218.The waiting list tends to move by 3 to 4 points at SCGSG.
Tell your friend stressing won't help and her dd has a realistic shout of a place most probably at SCGSG based on previous years cut offs and movements.Remain positive.
I would say she has a very good chance at Sutton girls, 214 was offered in July.
She should definitely put it as first in her form.
The appeal process is very involved and it is very rare that appeals are granted. There has to be exceptional circumstances.
