Choosing between CHB or Bishop Vesey

Hello,

Please can anyone offer a current insight into CHB and BV. We live in North Birmingham but want to consider putting CHB as first choice.

However, the location of BV and the fact that 3 of my son's friends are going to put the school as 1st choice is causing a dilemma as it should be an equally good grammar school.

I have already done a forum search and found opinions from a few years ago.

Would like to know if anyone does the journey to CHB from the other side of the city.

Also can anyone highlight the strengths and weaknesses of both schools.

Thank you. :D

Ravensbourne,

JaneEyre wrote extensively on the strengths of CHB. Please search for her old posts as I found them quite informative. Maybe Jane can shed further light.

I'd definitely choose BV if I lived closer to it than CHB! In fact I think I'd choose it if I didn't tbh..

Happy for you to PM me.

We are in the same sort of dilemma (good dilemma to be in and very thankful), CHB would be the school closer to us. Therefore, we have decided to put CHB first - then BV second. Distance and easy of transport trumped it for us.

All the best with the decision making.

Um, one at each school! So you have real experience of both schools. It would be great to get some feedback from you.

What gives BV the edge over CHB in your eyes? I have another question. Will send you a pm.

Thank you

I've noticed quite a big difference between the schools.

Happy for you to PM me.

I'd go closer to home.Ease of commute would win for me.

Good luck with your choice! Sounds like the best option.

That would be the most logical option but DS seems to prefer CHB.
