Hi All,
New to this forum. Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere. Are there children commuting from Shirley to Sutton Coldfield girls grammar school? Are there any private buses organised by parents?
Thanks in advance for any information x

Hi, welcome.
Yes, girls commute from Shirley to Sutton. Generally it’s a bus / train into Birmingham and then a train to Sutton and walk from the station. It makes it a long day, and in some cases a school closer to home is more beneficial.
Please be aware that with the new catchment areas coming into play there may be a rise in scores for Sutton.

Hi, thanks for the response. Agree that its quite far. Since Solihull is now out of catchment for other Birmingham grammar schools, not much options other than SCGS and Stratford girls. Hence looking out for more information about the possibilty of commute.
Many thanks x

It is quite a commute to Sutton, suspect Warks schools may be easier. make sure you have a look at the local schools though, sometimes the long trek isn't worth it.

the best option might be a drive over to bournville and then a direct train. I know people considering this route from Kings Heath
