From last year - June 2020
One of friend’s son has been offered Camphill boys yesterday but they have declined the offer. 268 out of catchment non pp. They are happy with Stratford Boys Grammar School KES.
Reason given was the school is not selective anymore, moreover it is challenging for the teachers to manage all 205s, 222s and above all in one classroom instead they have chosen a school that is selective and rounded with good results and reports.
I would suggest 250+ was the answer last year and possibly something similar for this year.

msquanity, I can see that you posted this information last year here but I cannot find the original post. Plus there was nothing in that post about their reasoning. Please can you clarify?

Camp Hill Boys' has gone downhill now they let any old local riff-raff in, not like when it was the preserve of the crème de la crème of our Second City and beyond. Frankly, my dear, these days it's no better than a <<shudder>> comprehensive school.

I have to say that when the catchment areas were first published, I immediately had a (rather delightful) vision of Citizen Khan's Alia rocking up at CHG .

Much of the allocations will be based on the catchments but the unknown area is where people have applied to schools out of catchment and would be after places under category 5:
5. Applicants achieving the qualifying score. Applicants in this category
will be ranked by test score. Where scores are equal, priority will be
given to those with a sibling** at the school; then ranked by distance
from the school.

If there are any places remaining after 1-4 then pupils who achieve above 205 will be ranked by score, if they have equal scores then having a sibling followed by distance will come into play.
This is a category where there could be out of catchment pupils with high scores and in catchment pupils with scores just under the priority score
I think it would be most helpful if people are awarded places out of catchment if they could indicate the school and the score - also if you have applied to an out of catchment grammar but not been offered a place, then the school and the score would be very helpful in seeing how many places are available via this route and what the required score is.

so...

School applied for
Score

Tamilmaaran - looks like the post above has got a bit scrambled - have you info about the OOC scores?

the 266 on the list will have been someone early on in the process who was OOC and did not get offered, it is not a definitive final figure.

ETA - it was correct for allocations in March 2020

The information 266 was not offered triggers panic among parents.
May be in the initial list OOC 266 may not be offered, but 228 of OOC was offered later and got into the school.

KEFW offered at 244 sibling on March 1st 2021 having failed to have enough places for all in catchment the year before

The figures above refer to March 2020 allocations (so they took the exam in 2019) indeed KEFW did not have enough places for all the catchment pupils in March 2020
